How do you evaluate new AI content creation tools before trying them?

I've been noticing more AI-powered tools appearing lately for video, image, and media creation. Some seem useful, while others feel more like marketing than real functionality. When you come across a new platform, what do you usually look at first? User reviews, output quality, privacy policies, ease of use, or something else? I'm curious how people decide whether a tool is worth their time.

I usually start by checking real user feedback and looking for examples created with the tool rather than relying on promotional material. Features matter, but transparency is just as important. For instance, when researching different AI-generated media solutions, I came across

while comparing how various platforms explain their workflows and output capabilities. Even then, I prefer spending time reading independent opinions and testing a service myself before forming a conclusion. A short hands-on trial often reveals much more than any feature list.
